A modern residence that is more than just a house - it’s a living, breathing entity that embodies joy and tranquility. Welcome to “Anand Mandala - The House of Joy”

A Vision of Joy

The design objective of Anand Mandala was to create a modern residence that seamlessly blends indoor and outdoor spaces, promoting natural living and good mental health. The house was envisioned as a journey of joy and beautiful surprises at every turn, revealing beautifully aligned inspiring spaces as we move through.

Embracing Challenges, Seizing Opportunities

Every design journey comes with its own set of challenges and opportunities. The challenge here was the harsh sunlight due to the house’s south-facing orientation. But every challenge presents an opportunity. The corner plot, surrounded by lush greenery, presented an opportunity to create a serene and tranquil environment.

Innovative Solutions

The design process involved creating a seamless flow from one room to another while maintaining a strong connection with the outdoors without breaking privacy. A unique solution to the challenge of harsh sunlight was developed - twin concrete walls extending above the house. These walls create shade and allow sunlight to filter into the house through a central south garden and horizontal slit windows.

Design Features that Stand Out

The standout feature of Anand Mandala is the twin concrete walls. They provide a unique aesthetic and a practical solution to controlling sunlight. The multiple green zones on each floor create a house of gardens, with the multi-layered terraced gardens being a treat to view on their own. The extended balconies in front and back are framed with landscape and a sliding MS feature. This element extends the balcony 2 feet further to incorporate a significant feature to frame greens, enhancing the connection with nature and providing unique aesthetics to the house.

Interactive Development

With the right opportunity at the right time, and for many coinciding reasons, new technology was utilized to create a perfect example of its application. The house was further developed in the Unreal Engine to create an interactive architectural experience. This allowed us to communicate the intricate connections of the design, which was not possible to such an extent with traditional mediums. It truly expresses the effort that went into designing these connections and doing justice to the design.

Experience the ‘House of Joy’

In this interactive experience, you can walk through the gardens, overlook the layered terraces, relax in the terrace pool, and admire the beautiful natural surroundings. You can also interact with the interiors, control automated artificial lighting, and utilize house services. Live in the house, interact with the environment, and immerse yourself in the joyful experience.

Anand Mandala - The House of Joy is more than just a house. It’s a testament to innovative architectural design combined with the beauty of nature. It’s a house that truly embodies its name, “Anand Mandala - The House of Joy”. Come, experience the joy for yourself.
